David A. Sami

David A. Sami MD

Dr. Sami is Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a licensed Qualified Medical Evaluator by the State of California.  He has additional qualifications, by fellowships in London and Boston (Harvard School of Medicine), in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus.

His academic and research interests include: Effects of traumatic brain injury on visual function; Shaken baby Syndrome; Motility of ocular prostheses; Consequences of severe prematurity on visual function; Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Neotech Inc. and Dr. Sami have patented a novel speculum and depressor set for use in ROP screening.

Dr. Sami attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles. He served his internship in medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles and his residency in Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California.  He completed two fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus: A combined research and clinical fellowship at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, England; and a second at the Harvard fellowship program of Children’s Hospital Boston. From 2006 to 2016 Dr. Sami was Division Chief of Ophthalmology for the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. He is currently president of EyeSightMD.

Aracelli Ortega

Aracelli Ortega

Aracelli Ortega has 24 years of ophthalmology experience. She has extensive Ophthalmology experience which includes cornea, refractive surgery, oculoplastic, and strabismus (adult and pediatric). She has a true passion for the field of ophthalmology. She has worked the front of the office as well as being able to provide direct patient care as an ophthalmic assistant.

She began as an ophthalmic assistant and refractive surgery coordinator for the chief of ophthalmology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She subsequently gained experience in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus working in the ophthalmology divisions at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. She joined the Ophthalmology Division of Subspecialty Faculty at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County as an ophthalmic assistant in 2012.

Dr. Sami and Aracelli have worked together for the past 10 years, first as part of Subspecialty Faculty of the Children’s hospital of Orange County, and subsequently at EyeSight MD. As an essential part of the team she is dedicated to our core missions of price transparency, exceptional quality of care, and outstanding patient experience.

Valerie Sanchez

Valerie Sanchez

Valerie has 23 years experience in the healthcare field. She began with the Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County as an administrative assistant and subsequently as lead departmental assistant for the Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Sami and Valerie Sanchez have worked together for over a decade, first as part of the Subspecialty Faculty of the Children’s Hospital and subsequently at Eyesight MD.

Valerie brings a range of technical skills to Eyesight MD which she has acquired over the past 16 years working directly with patients in the field of ophthalmology. As an essential part of the team she is dedicated to our core mission of price transparency, exceptional patient care and an outstanding patient experience.
